Staff Member: Mollie Preston
My name is Mollie Preston, and this is my first year teaching music at Divine Savior. I’m excited to be teaching all of you! I’ll be here on Tuesdays and Fridays, and on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays I will be teaching music in the Mequon-Thiensville School District. This will be my 6th year teaching there, and before that, I taught music for three years at Divine Mercy Catholic School in South Milwaukee.
In my free time, I like to kayak, hike, fish, play soccer, and go indoor rock climbing. I also can play the piano, clarinet, trumpet, and ukulele, and I enjoy the challenge of learning how to play new instruments. Right now I’m learning how to play the trombone - it’s easier than I thought it would be!
One of my favorite things about teaching music is seeing my students’ excitement when they sing, move, listen, or play instruments during a favorite song. Because I am a music teacher, of course one of my goals is to help my students develop their musical knowledge and skills as well as a lifelong love of music. What’s just as important to me, though, is to help them become kind, compassionate, brave, and resilient individuals who strive to do their best no matter what.
