Divine Savior Human Concerns Committee

This committee reaches out to those in need, including providing rides, food, children's gifts at Christmas, and senior gifts at Christmas and Easter.

Our Events

March - Reverse Food Collection for The Food Pantry in Port Washington

Before Easter - Distribute flowers to our parish shut-ins

August - Special collection (if needed) for the The Food Pantry in Port Washington

November - Reverse Food Collection for The Food Pantry in Port Washington

December - Gift-A-Child collection to benefit children at The Food Pantry in Port Washington.  Caps, mittens, and scarves are also collected. 

Ongoing - Send sympathy/get well cards to parishioners.  Committee members and non-committee members deliver Communion to local shut-ins. Items collected from parishioners and school children are regularly donated to The Food Pantry in Port Washington. Coordinate with the Parish Office to provide transportation for those in need. 

Rosemary Haskey is also the Secretary for The Food Pantry in Port Washington.

Our Meetings

We meet formally in fall and early spring, as well as on an as needed basis, in the Parish Center in Fredonia.
