Reconcilation is an extremely important sacrament that often gets overlooked. It is considered a sacrament of healing, because it repairs our relationship with God and restores us back to the moment of our baptism. As Catholics we are called to receive this sacrament AT LEAST once a year. The reason students receive the sacrament at such a young age is for two reasons:
1. It is meant to build up the practice or habit of going on a regular basis
2. It prepares the children to receive the true presence of Christ at their First Communion in a state of grace.
If your child has not received their First Reconcilation or First Communion and is in 2nd grade or older, contact our parish offices to help us prepare them for this beautiful and necessary sacrament.
