Hello, I am the 4K teacher, Michele Pierson. I have been teaching at DSCS since 2013, and I can assure you that each year is an adventure! First off, I would like to introduce you to my family. My husband Jeff and I have two daughters, Paige and Kenna. Their activities definitely keep us busy!
The 4K classroom is a special place to be because we work hard on learning how to be independent. In our classroom we thrive on structure and organization. I tell my parents that 4K is about exposure and repetition. I introduce concepts to the kids and then I continue to present the students with that information in a variety of ways. We learn through song, through rhymes, and most importantly, through play. We make learning fun and most times, the kids don’t even realize that they are grasping a concept!
